Yamaha centaur Fabio Quartararo is happy with his third place: “I gave it my all.”

The world title is almost gone, but Fabio Quartararo is proud for his third place in Malaysia, achieved with a fractured finger: “It had been a while since I had been on the podium and I gave it my all. I’m proud of what I did, also because they had a good race, as did we. I rode really well and it was one of my best races of the season, especially during the first laps, I’m really happy and satisfied and we can get to Valencia with the championship still open.”

“We struggled especially in the fourth straight sector, but I’m happy to have had a race like that. I saw Pecco who made a good start and a good braking, but I knew that if I wanted to do something I had to make a spectacular first lap, as well as the first braking. He gained 6-7 positions, but so did we.”

On the fractured finger: “It hurts, on Tuesday I have to do a scanner to see exactly the type of fracture. On X-ray you can see it, but on the scanner you can see it better and you will know more things. We struggled in some types of turns, where our stability was good, but we were struggling to steer, like in the change of direction between Turn-5 and Turn-6. At Turns 3-4 I was really going to the limit, because there were not the same problems.”
