Kranjska Gora, Marta Bassino comes close to victory. Well done Federica Brignone
Excellent performance for the Azzurre in Saturday’s giant slalom in Slovenia
Five out of five: Marta Bassino scored her fifth podium finish out of five World Cup giant slaloms this season, thanks to a second-place finish in Saturday’s race in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.
The Azzurra, who thanks to this result stretches in the World Cup specialty ranking, was preceded by 37 hundredths by the surprising Canadian Valerie Grenier. Third step of the podium for Petra Vhlova, 40 hundredths behind the winner.
Federica Brignone also did well, who, after a diesel start, began to get into gear: the Valle d’Aosta woman was fourth at 50 thousandths, and recriminated for a mistake in the upper part of the course. Fifth place for Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami.
