F1, Horner stings Aston Martin: “Old Red Bull is going strong.”
Red Bull team principal in press conference doesn’t mince words
Red Bull team principal Chris Horner in a press conference congratulated Aston Martin on its incredible growth, but at the same time poked fun at the Silverstone-based team for the design of the single-seater.
“I think what Aston Martin has done over the winter shows all the teams that it is possible to make a big leap forward. They’ve obviously done a very good job over the past few months, and they say imitation is the greatest form of flattery, and it’s great to see an old Red Bull doing so well.”
Aston Martin has taken full advantage of the work of Dan Fallows, former Red Bull now the British team’s current technical director: “I don’t regret letting Dan Fallows go, because we have a wonderful team. Everything has to evolve, nothing stands still. And I think it’s flattering to see the similarity the AMR23 has with our single-seater. It was great to see all three of those cars on the podium.”
