Olimpia Milano, Nicolò Melli celebrates an important milestone
The wing/center is the linchpin of Coach Messina’s defense
In Olimpia’s game won, at the Forum, against Partizan (sixth consecutive Euroleague victory), Melli, in addition to celebrating success with his teammates, took home a prestigious milestone as far as AX history is concerned.
With the eight rebounds he captured in the match with Partizan, the former NBA player, now the soul of Milan’s defense, became the best rebounder ever in Olimpia’s Euroleague history. Melli surpassed Tarczewski, who was stationary at 626. At the moment, the Italian is up to 633, but the meter is running. A record that certifies, if ever there was a need, how important Melli is in Coach Messina’s chessboard.
