Nico Mannion open-hearted about mom
Nico Mannion gave a long interview to Euroleague in which he talked about his background, his family, and in particular his mom: “My mom is tough. She is super competitive. Both my parents were athletes, obviously, and I think I get my competitive side from both of them, but my mom is very competitive. She used to play volleyball. I like to joke with my dad saying ‘I got my athletic ability from mom, you’re not that athletic’ to joke with him. She is my rock, one of the best people I have ever seen. She is there for me through ups and downs, she is really my support system. She is like a superwoman to me, she can do anything.”
“She would tell me about her adventures and say ‘You’ll like it over there,’ because when she decided to come here … she never wanted to go home to the United States. He’s not wrong, I like it here too. You never really know where life will take you and I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs. Having that open-mindedness of ‘that’s not where you’re stuck,’ knowing that tomorrow will come, knowing that there will always be a brighter day, and also knowing that when you’re having a good day you can think ‘It’s okay to have a bad day or not feel good one day’ helps you see through it all. Do what you love to do,” Mannion concluded.
