Marc Marquez: Jack Miller blurts out in press room
Jack Miller on Marc Marquez: “These are things that happen every year but because it’s him people immediately draw the knife.”
Marc Marquez’s mistake at Portimao, and subsequent penalty, continue to hold sway in MotoGp. Jack Miller in a press conference in Argentina, on the eve of the three-day Grand Prix in Rio Hondo, spoke about the case: “When you get in the saddle it’s normal that emotions also go up, we are all in the same situation, accidents can happen. Maybe there was a mistake by someone, it is clear that if there are rules they should be applied, what we have to ask for is consistency and constancy from the commissioners.”
“Now everyone has their finger pointed at Marquez, I don’t want to defend him, but in my opinion we are talking too much about it. These are things that happen every year but because it’s him people immediately draw the knife. He made a mistake and there have to be consequences, but they are targeting him and the penalties they want to impose on him.”
“There is an insurmountable limit, but we are here to compete, together as athletes we have to do our best to find a consistent measure for the sport. If you hit someone, there has to be a penalty. I don’t agree with blowing up races, the point is to figure out where to draw the line,” the KTM rider concluded.
