MotoGP: Marco Bezzecchi already wants to turn over a new leaf
Bitterness over the withdrawal, but a willingness to start again as soon as possible.
Marco Bezzecchi failed to finish the MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix due to a crash that caused his retirement. The Mooney VR46 Racing Team centaur, who started 13th, made the mistake on lap 16 when he was in 10th position and now finds himself second in the overall standings.
“I have to say that this was not really my weekend,” Bezzecchi admitted at the end of the day, “Today at the first start I just felt a big bump, but I didn’t fall. I didn’t really understand what happened and I haven’t even had time to look at the video images yet. In general I’m more sorry because on the bike I didn’t feel bad, but I wasn’t fast. And losing access to Q2 yesterday really complicated things.”
“The start in the middle of the group is always difficult,” Bezzecchi later admitted, “because the tire heats up a lot and it is then difficult then to manage. Today the temperature went up a lot and I then made the mistake. Too bad, but let’s turn the page toward tomorrow’s test and Le Mans.”
