Mick Doohan drastic on Marc Marquez: “Away without Honda’s commitment”

Former Honda multiple world champion Mick Doohan in an interview with Marca did not mince words in commenting on Marc Marquez’s situation: “I don’t know Honda’s internal problems, I don’t know what kind of commitment there is to develop the bike. If I were in Marquez’s position, I would want to know 100 percent how committed Honda is to developing the bike in the right direction.”

“Assurances should not just be verbal. If they are not able to do that, then I would leave. The same thing happened to me: every year I would complain and talk to other manufacturers, but I stayed with Honda because I could see they were continuing their development.”

“Not everything is about money, because they were doing well financially. If Honda is not committed you would have to look elsewhere,” the Australian rider concluded.
