VNL, Italvolley ends up knocked out by Brazil
Italy-Brazil 2-3
Defeat on debut in Pool 6 in Bangkok for Italy.
CT Davide Mazzanti’s Azzura women’s team was folded by Brazil 2-3 (28-26; 20-25; 25-19; 21-25; 10-15) in the challenge valid for the second day of week 3 being played in the Thai capital. In front of about 10,000 spectators at the PalaHuamark in Bangkok, Italy, orphaned by the injured captain Myriam Sylla, cashed its fourth defeat in the Volleyball Nations League, which, however, does not jeopardize its path to the Finals. A game of heart, head and play by the Azzurri, who were unable, however, to close out a long-dominated match that ended with the seventh tiebreak in 9 VNL matches.
Tomorrow the azzurre will enjoy a break day to better prepare the decisive match with Canada (Friday at 8:00 am Italian time live on Sky Sport Summer and Sky Sport Arena).
