Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s first words as an AC Milan player
Former Chelsea’s statements in press conference
After resuming training ahead of next season, AC Milan officially presented Ruben Loftus-Cheek, an English midfielder bought from Chelsea, at a press conference.
“The San Siro game in the Champions League was an amazement for us as well: to hear that noise in the stadium, everyone booing and the support of the fans was truly extraordinary. Milan is a team that can boast a great history and so many champions, Kaka and Pirlo being just a few. For me this is a great opportunity to show everyone my talent and try to excel,” the English midfielder began.
“I have no set goals, but I want to play in a position that allows me to score a lot of goals. I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself, but I want to improve a lot. Sarri has been crucial for my career. The season with him was the best from a numbers standpoint. During my career I have played different roles, but the halfback I think is the position in which I feel most comfortable. This season Milan will have to aim for constant improvement. We will have to try to win every match,” added the former Chelsea man.
In conclusion, Loftus-Cheek addressed the imminent arrival of Christian Pulisic: “Christian will arrive tomorrow. We have been in touch and I am sure he will give us a big hand. I told him that he has to give everything, because he has the potential to be among the best in the world.”
