Sergio Scariolo, moving farewell to Milos Teodosic
Sergio Scariolo publicly greets Milos Teodosic
Sergio Scariolo, through his Twitter profile, dedicated a touching message to Milos Teodosic: the Brescia coach thus wished to publicly say goodbye to the Serbian champion, who wore the Vu Nere’s jersey for the past four seasons, deciding to end his experience when his contract expired.
“Thank you for what you taught me,” Scariolo wrote, “for deciding to ‘let me coach you,’ even when we were at odds; thank you for always putting the team before you, which is not easy for players of your caliber…. And thank you especially for your words when I already knew that you would no longer be one of my players.”
Teodosic, who turned 36 last March 19, leaves an important imprint on Bologna thanks to his role in winning a Scudetto (2021), two Italian Supercups (2021 and 2022) and a Eurocup (2022). The Serbian also accompanied the Vu Nere in their return to the Euroleague in the season just ended, helping the Bologna club to 14 victories in the continental competition involving Europe’s most prestigious clubs.
Individually, Teodosic also won in his time in Bologna the title of MVP of the Serie A finals in 2021 and the Eurocup finals in 2022. He was also selected in the Eurocup “First Team” in both 2021 and 2022.
In the coming season, the Serbian returns to his country: he will play for Red Star Belgrade, which signed him to a one-year contract, expiring June 30, 2024.
