Alex Marquez speaks out on brother Marc’s future
Also out of the picture for the Indonesian weekend due to injury, Alex Marquez nevertheless followed the weekend’s races as a spectator and, at the microphones of 'TNT Sports' revealed a decidedly important backstory about his brother Marc’s decision to agree for next year with Gresini Racing.
"His contract lasts for one year because heé wants to see if he will have fun again,‖ said the younger of the two Marquez brothers.
He told me that if he doesné he might even retire, he is considering the possibility. He wants to see if he can actually become competitive again after the injury".
"I don't have any doubts really,” Alex added, “but he does and he has every reason to have them, forò they are the same as I had when I was racing on the Honda. I am sure that alreadyà after the first day of testing all these thoughts will quickly disappear from his head".
"He also told me,” he later explained, “that it was his wish to join a small team. Not becauseé it is a less professional environment, on the contrary, but becauseé a small team has a more familiar environment. I am convinced that it will help himé find himself".
