Milan-Cortina 2026, no bobsled track in Cesana: foreign countries remain
Milan-Cortina 2026, no bobsled track in Cesana: stays abroad
The International Olympic Committee has rejected plans to renovate the bobsled track in Cesana, Piedmont, ahead of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
The IOC explained that the track abandoned in 2012 does not fit the required standards: "In recent years the IOC è has been very clear that no permanent venue should be built without a clear and feasible legacy plan. Only existing and already operational runways" should be considered.
This leaves only the foreign option for bobsled racing: the alternatives are St.Moritz (Switzerland) and Igls (Austria).
