Roma, Tiago Pinto says goodbye
Thiago Pinto leaves Roma
Game over, Tiago Pinto is leaving Roma after three years in the Eternal City. The Giallorossi general manager broke the news to the team this morning, thanking them for the victory they achieved yesterday against Cremonese and reassuring them that he will do everything possible to strengthen Roma during this market session as well.
Pinto’s resignation, in fact, will be effective Feb. 1, immediately after the winter market closes. This means that the Portuguese executive will haveà managed as many as six market sessions during his tenure, which lasted from January 4, 2021.
The separation is now è just around the corner and soon will come Roma’s official statement, sealing the end of an up-and-down relationship. In recent months the general manager è ended up in the spotlight of the fans, who attribute to him the numerous market mistakes and the discouraging current situation of the Mourinho-led squad. Among the failed purchases we find names such as Vina, Shomurodov, Celik, Camara, Maitland-Niles and Renato Sanches, to name a few.
Pinto, however, è was also the one who brought to the Capitoline team Mourinho, Dybala and Lukaku, the three top skaters in Roma’s current lineup. Ultimately, the three-year relationship had its ups and downs, but it clearly affected Pinto’s health. His departure had been foretold for some time, with Pinto confessing to many marketers his weariness in working at Roma. It seems that in recent times he has even presented his resume to well-known Arab soccer figures, hoping to secure a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia. What è is certain, è that the relationship between him and Roma will end at the end of this month, probably without any regrets.
