Jessie Diggins and Harald Oestberg Amundsen win the Tour de Ski

Sophia Laukli of the United States took the first victory of her World Cup career in the Final Climb that completed the 18th edition of the women’s Tour de Ski in Val di Fiemme (Trento, Italy). The North American ventritreenne, who away from the ’winter è one of the world’s leading trail runners, reached the finish line first at the 1,300-meter altitude of Doss dei Laresi winning with a time of 38’16″5 and a margin of 17″1 over Norway’s Heidi Weng; third place in a comeback for France’s Delphine Claudel (+37″7), followed in turn by Finland’s Kerttu Niskanen and Latvia’s Patricija Eiduka.

Sixth place for the’other U.S. Jessie Diggins who thus maintains the first place in the overall Tour de Ski ranking: for her this is the second victory after the one in the 2021 edition. In the final ranking Diggins is 31″6 ahead of Weng herself (seventh podium for her, with two victories) and 39″7 ahead of Niskanen.

Fassa’s Caterina Ganz è was the only Italian to take on the final stage of the Tour de Ski: for her good 18th place at the finish line with 2’21″7 delay from Laukli while in the overall standings the Trentino woman finished 22nd.

In the men’s field, Frenchmen at ease with the stage win going to Jules Lapierre, recovering from 20th position, who was able to finish with a time of 33’00″7, ahead of German Friedrich Moch by 2″4 and another Frenchman Hugo Lapalus by 16″0.

Good race for Italians Paolo Ventura, 16th with 1’36″3 behind, and Simone Daprà, 18th with 1’42″5 behind. Giandomenico Salvadori finished in 30th place, while è 34th Elia Barp

With fifth place at the top of Cermis, Norway’s Harald Oestberg Amundsen wins the Tour de Ski 2024, with a time of 3h41’21″9, ahead of German climber Fridrich Moch, 1’19″2 off, and Frenchman Hugo Lapalus at 1’32″8.

Ventura è the first of the Italians in the Tour with 29th place, while è 33rd Giandomenico Salvadori, 34th è Elia Barp and 37th Simone Daprà.
