Honda, Franco Uncini è lapidary after Marc Marquez's farewell

During an interview given to the microphones of the "Gazzetta dello Sport", former rider and FIM safety manager Franco Uncini, among the various topics discussed, è dwelt on the moments of difficulty that Honda and Yamaha are going through and on the possibilities of the two big Japanese manufacturers to reduce the gap of Ducati, which has è proved to be clearly superior over the past two seasons. In addition, the 'former blue centaur è expressed himself on the possible impact that may have the farewell of Marc Marquez on HRC.

"The future of Honda and Yamaha will dependà all on the investments they plan to make, in the short term as well as in the long term, because my suspicion è that in recent years they have been rather limited. It's the only explanation that could explain the sharp decline they have had in these seasons. I think they are tired of collecting bad figures, so I expect a lot of work in terms of development" began the former Yamaha centaur.

"In Honda they slept on their laurels for a long time, they had Marquez who, thanks to his talent, è was able to hide the shortcomings of the bike, they paid him so much to win and he pleased them. When the technical gap è grew out of proportion, forè Marc è was no longer enough and eventually he è got tired. I think one year is not enough; to become competitive again, we will have to carefully choose which road to take. Regardless of how Marquez will go in Gresini, I doubt he will return to Honda in 2025" added the'former FIM safety manager.

"In Yamaha, on the other hand, they have been shopping for technicians from Ducati, we will see if and in how long this choiceà will pay off. They certainly have a very strong rider like Quartararo and they will have to show him quickly that they can make progress, becauseé if not, his farewell at the end of the season would be very likely" concluded Franco Uncini.
