Marta Bassino è charged: "I’m fine, I know what to do"

Marta Bassino's last podium in the World Cup è dated January 22, 2023, when the Piedmontese athlete finished third in the Super-G in Cortina d'Ampezzo, on the Olimpia slope of the Tofane: since then, no major results have come at the international level, but the 27-year-old è is optimistic for the long weekend of speed in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee.

"It's been nice and important to get back on long skis, to feel the thrill of speed,” said Bassino, speaking to the microphones of 'Val di Fassa Ski World Cup' at the conclusion of training on the La Volata slope. “Here we always find ideal conditions for training, and we had a great workout ahead of the race weekend in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee".

"I feel good, I know what I have to do. All that remains is to find some’ continuity’ of performance and confidence. The pieces will come together" added the Piedmontese, who in the World Cup has scored 6 victories in her career, all in giant slalom, but boasts a world gold medal in Super-G won during the 2023 Courchevel/Méribel rainbow event.

Marta Bassino è one of eleven summoned for the long weekend of sprinting in Austria: the others are Federica Brignone, Sofia Goggia, Roberta Melesi, Nicole Delago, Nadia Delago, Laura Pirovano, Elena Dolmen, Monica Zanoner, Vicky Bernardi and Teresa Runggaldier. Two Super-G (Friday 12 and Sunday 14) and one downhill (Saturday 13) will be run in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee.
