Lara Gut-Behrami wins the second super-G in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee with a time of 1’14″95 and precedes two Austrians: Cornelia Huetter by 25 hundredths and Mirjam Puchner by 26. Great race by Roberta Melesi, who finds the best result in her career with sixth place just 39 hundredths behind the best and 13 hundredths from the podium that the Lombard woman left in the middle part of the track.
Overall, Italy today è dropped a few places from the lead, with Sofia Goggia taking eighth place 48 hundredths behind the first and Federica Brignone finishing 11th 65 hundredths behind. The race è was affected by gusts of wind that forced the jury to lower the start to the reserve start. Laura Pirovano was 97 hundredths late, while Marta Bassino stopped the stopwatch with 1″48 delay.
Roberta Melesi: “I am overjoyed. I managed to do a complete run without making any big mistakes. I am enjoying the moment and we will see what comes next. I come from difficult years and I struggled a lot to get to this result”.
Sofia Goggia: “I think I had a good race overall. The podium today was within reach, I take the good that there’è from this race. A good weekend, very good in the downhill, a little bit’ lacking in the superG where I could have picked up a lot moreù.
Federica Brignone: “There’was a lot of wind for’ until the’last wall I was first. I made a mistake in the final part, which I could not interpret. I was too stiff again and I wanted too much, as had already happened yesterday. The balance of the weekend for me è negative: the first race è went well, but the last two days were two not good races and I am very sorry”.
Marta Bassino: “I felt very much in the wind that went very gusty. But the ’appointment è renewed for Jasna”.
