An extraordinary and unforgettable day for the VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè who won the first stage of the Volta Valenciana thanks to Alessandro Tonelli, first ahead of teammate  Manuele Tarozzi, at the end of a beautiful ride. The two attacked on the last climb, gaining enough margin to reach the finish line with a wide lead. For the Brescian, this is the second career victory, for Italian cycling è the first victory of the season.

Statements from Tonelli, who has been on Reverberi’s team for ten years: ;A beautiful day, I have to thank my teammate Manuele Tarozzi for this success. This victory è very important because it means that during the winter we did a great job of preparation. We will try to keep the leader jersey as much as possible in the coming days. Now we will look to the races with more confidence and try to win again'.

Roberto Reverberi, team manager, says:"This morning, on the bus, I talked with the guys about the possibility for the breakaway to come, especially in these short stage races. During the race there's been some uncertainty about who should pull, they let the breakaways go at nine minutes, and when the group started to come back we attacked on the last climb.We want to dedicate this special victory to Ugo De Rosa".
