Tortona knocks out Varese, De Raffaele feels safe
De Raffaele exults
Bertram Derthona achieved an important victory against Varese (90-83), withstanding all comeback attempts. Four players, Obasohan, Baldasso, Kamagate and Strautins, churned out a remarkable performance, contributing significantly to the Piedmont team’s success.
”Victory as important as it was difficult, becauseé it came against a team that plays with atypicalityà with four or five shooters, with Gilmore tonight, in time. The boys played a solid game, building well on offense although not always materializing. The success with the red-and-whites perhaps takes us away from the salvation discourse for good, moving up from the third-last place we were in three months ago, and keeps us in the running for the post season dream” said De Raffaele.
”Obasohan has been raising his performance for a while now, especially defensively, while offensively we decided to give him more of the ball in his hands as a point guard, moving Dowe to guard, and even with the three small ones his physical bullying è important and canò produce advantages especially on defense. Varese forces you to make different choices, sending opponents out of a’habit prevalent among almost all other teams” concluded the HCL helmsman.
