Trieste Basketball makes official a reinforcement in the frontcourt. The red-and-white club, in fact, through a note issued on its official profiles, has announced the temporary purchase of Leo Menalo, a 2002 class forward from Virtus Bologna.

"The roster of Pallacanestro Trieste is strengthened with the addition of Leo Menalo, a 2002 class wing, Croatian-born but Italian-trained. He arrives in Trieste after spending the past two seasons in the ranks of Virtus Segafredo Bologna, under the guidance first of Sergio Scariolo and then Luca Banchi.

Leo began his basketball training in the youth ranks of K.K. Cibona Zagreb, but è in Italy, at Stella Azzurra Roma, growing up earning minutes on the Capitoline parquet starting in the 2018/2019 season. For three seasons he plays in Serie A2, alternating the jersey of Stella Azzurra with that of the Roseto Sharks, where he plays the 2019/2020 championship on loan. His athleticism, work abnegation and basketball intelligence earned him in the 2022/2023 season the call to Sergio Scariolo’s court, at Virtus Segafredo Bologna, where he has played until today.

Considered one of the European Top Prospects for those born in 2002, thanks to his 208 cm for 95 kg, he manages to be an’important individualità in attack, able to play well in the pitturato, but also endowed with an educated hand. In 2022 he wore the Croatian U20 national team jersey at the European Championships in Montenegro where he averaged 14 points topped by 4.4 rebounds.

Welcome Leo" this is the note issued by the red and white club.

“We are thrilled to have Leo on our team at this crucial time of the season. È a young man of great character, passion for the game and excellent work ethic. He’ll bring skill, athleticism and versatility to our roster on both ends of the court. We welcome Leo and his family to Trieste with warmth and enthusiasm" this, instead, is the welcome message from Trieste Basketball GM Michael Arcieri.
