Casper Ruud frames the favorites for Roland Garros

With only a few days to go before the start of Roland Garros, the second slam of the season, during a press conference Casper Ruud è expressed himself in no uncertain terms regarding the main favorites for the final victory, Novak Djokovic above all. In addition to the Serbian, however, the Norwegian player also listed Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, who may arrive at the tournament not fully in 100 percent physical condition.

"There are players who come to this tournament with great confidence, which è an important factor when playing tennis. Alexander Zverev è perhaps the one who arrives best in Paris after winning the Internazionali d'Italia. I performed very well at the beginning of the season on clay and I hope I can regain my best form in Geneva and give my best in the second Slam of the season. It must be said that Roland Garros this year represents a great opportunity, as several players could pose a big threat to anyone" began the Norwegian tennis player.

"For me Novak Djokovic è still one of the biggest favorites to win the final despite the fact that he comes to this event in a worse situation than he expected. He's still the one who won the most in the Slams, so I expect him to be one of the main candidates. If healthy or otherwise close to 100 percent I think Sinner and Alcaraz will also be big threats to everyone" added the Oslo native.

"There are still a lot of things I want to accomplish that I haven’t done yet, but at the same time I think it went better than I expected or thought was realistic when I was younger. It's motivating to play important matches and get good results in the most important tournaments" concluded Casper Ruud.
