Juventus closes well, Alex Sandro greets with goal
Juventus closes the 2023/2024 season with a 2-0 home win against Monza, breaking the long series of draws in recent weeks and allowing it to finish Serie A in third place and on a positive note after the controversy following Massimiliano Allegri's exoneration. The Bianconeri led by Montero won at Allianz Stadium thanks to goals in the first half from Chiesa and Alex Sandro: the Brazilian thus greeted the Stadium crowd with a goal and equaled Nedved as the most foreigner in the history of the Old Lady.
After a good start by Palladino’s team, Juve took charge of the match and after a chipped cross by Fagioli came close to taking the lead on 24' with Yildiz, repelled on the line by Izzo. The Bianconeri set up a lethal one-two in a few minutes: on 26' Chiesa set up by Milik skips past d'Ambrosio and beats Sorrentino, on 28' comes the double signed by Alex Sandro. The Brazilian celebrated his farewell day in the best way, scoring on the development of Fagioli’s corner.
At the beginning of the second half, Pinsoglio, who came in for Perin, denied Birindelli the 1-2 goal, shortly after Chiesa touched the third goal chipping the post. The match continued at a lower pace and the goalkeepers came to the fore, Sorrentino making a save on Yildiz while Pinsoglio è good on Djuric’s header.
In the final, Tiago Djalòò made his debut for the Bianconeri, the last thrills in the salvage: Miretti hit the post but at a standstill, Zerbin was sent off for double admonition after a foul on Alcaraz. Curtain on the season of the bianconeri and also of the brianzoli, already saved for a long time.
