France beats Italy and advances to the final of the men’s volleyball tournament. The hosts, the reigning Olympic champions, immediately put the challenge downhill by winning both the first (25-20) and the second set (25-21) without too much trouble.
In the third partial, Giani’s men immediately took off (4-1) and did not let themselves be taken back, going on to close the contest on 25-21.
The’other finalist è Poland who claimed victory in a thrilling match against the United States. 25-23, 25-27, 14-25, 25-23 and 15-13 were the set scores. In the tie-break, after saving three match points, the Americans finally succumbed, paving the way for their rivals.
