Pallacanestro Trieste, two confirmations on Jamion Christian’s staff
Coach Jamion Christian ès staff is now full. The Basketball Trieste, in fact, has confirmed alongside the U.S. coach both Francesco Nanni and Nick Schlitzer, already engaged last season on the biancorossa bench in the ride that brought the team back to compete in the top league. Their confirmations are in addition to the already announced addition of coach Francesco Taccetti, announced by the company three weeks ago.
"Coach Christian and I are extremely pleased to announce the return of Francesco and Nick to our coaching staff,
commented general manager Michael Arcieri.”
Together with Francesco Taccetti, we have built an experienced and diverse staff to support Coach Christian and our players as we head into the new season. Francesco and Nick were key elements of our success last season: Francesco oversaw our highly regarded offense, while Nick contributed significantly to the development of skills and growth of players across the roster".
"Their contributions off the field have been equally indispensable. They have created very strong bonds with players and staff, helping to build an organizational culture and identity that our fans and our cityà can be proud of! We welcome them back with the utmost enthusiasm!”" commented the gm of the Julian club.
Nanni trained basketball at Pallacanestro Forl Forl in Serie A2, then honed his skills alongside such experienced coaches as Gigi Garelli, Giorgio Valli, Marcelo Nicola and Sandro Dell’Agnello. The leap in quality came with the move in 2021 to Scafati with coach Alessandro Rossi s court, where he won promotion to the A Series. With the arrival of coach Attilio Caja on the yellow-blue bench, Francesco’s Campania adventure ends and he decides to devote himself to his own training, traveling to the United States to update his technical and tactical knowledge. His return to Italy coincides with his arrival at Trieste, with which in his final year he builds a resounding promotion, the second of his career.
Nick, after starting quietly alongside the coaching staff last season, has since proved to be a key element in locker room balances and a valuable aid in individual player development, as well as in video analysis. A native of Pottsville, Pennsylvania, he had a good playing career. After leading the Jefferson Rams to the NCAA Division II title, Nick walked the parquet floors of Europe in the English, Georgian, Swedish and Icelandic top leagues. After a brief return to the United States on the coaching staff of his home college, Nick landed in Italy to continue his education. Since last season è essential component of the coaching staff, and he is about to experience his first Serie A championship from the biancorossa bench.
