History è has been written: Anna Danesi and her teammates won the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games – beating the United States 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-17), a feat never before achieved by any Italian volleyball team (for the women’s national team this is the seventh participation in the Games).

For CT Velasco, then, after the Atlanta 1996 silver medal with the men, comes the medal that was still missing in his and the Italian Volleyball Federation’s trophy case. Historic feat, then, for a wonderful group of female athletes able to win in the same year Volleyball Nations League and Olympics, the worthy crowning achievement of a long journey of maturation that began a few years ago now.
