Guanyu Zhou lashes out at haters and stings Ollie Bearman

During an interview given to the microphones of "The Race", Chinese driver Guanyu Zhou, among other topics, wanted to respond in kind to the numerous criticisms he has received since his landing in F1 in 2021. In addition, the 25-year-old commented bluntly on the Kick Sauber team’s decision to target Ollie Bearman for the 2025 season.

"In 2021 when I signed with Alfa Romeo, I received so many racist insults from people who had not followed my career. I had finished third in F2 winning four races, while now a driver who is permanently outside the top 10 will have a seat in F1, surrounded by great support. This shows that prejudices about nationalityà are real" began the Chinese driver.

"When you è Asians è it is difficult to change this mentality, but I am not worried about it. I don’t think anyone expected to see a Chinese driver in F1, and I don’t think there will be any more in the next five or 10 years" added the 1999 class.

"I want to stay in F1, but I haven’t thought about a possible third driver role yet. My mindset is to get a starting driver&#39s seat, I have a 50% or more chance of getting a seat for next year. On many occasions I was a little bit faster than Bottas. I struggled a bit with my aggressive driving style this year, but in the second half of the world championship I will have the upgrades and I am convinced that things will be better" concluded Guanyu Zhou.
