After a first free practice session affected by humidity and rain (nine laps for Bagnaia, the fastest on the track), Free Practice 2 in Motegi had a surprise epilogue. The best time was set by Binder on KTM. The South African rider stopped the clock on 1'43"436, putting everyone behind him.

On the very last useful lap, Marc Marquez è managed to snatch an excellent second place with 33 thousandths behind Binder. Third final time for the leader of the World Drivers’ Championship Martin who did not è seem perfectly comfortable on the track. Next was compatriot Acosta, author of another very special session. First of the Italians è was Bastianini (at 284 thousandths from Binder). To close the Top 10 Bezzecchi.

Pre qualifying complicated for Bagnaia who è appeared in difficulty on the dry lap (better in the race pace). The reigning World Champion closed with the seventh final time that he è however, earned him entry into Q2 which, in fact, was the’minimum goal.

To report a bad fall starring Bastianini halfway through the session. Fortunately, there were no consequences for the pilot who è recovered fully. Zarco è also ended up off the track.
