In the fight for the constructors’ title between McLaren and the Maranello cars, Lando Norris has put pressure on his opponents, pointing to them as favorites. McLaren has a 36-point lead with three GPs still to go. Oscar Piastri also gave his preference to Ferrari.
In response, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz tried to dampen expectations before the weekend. "I think it is very calm" replied Leclerc to a question about the mood at Ferrari, which could return to winning the constructors’ title after 16 years.
"Everyone is very calm and this è a really positive thing. I think it was not like this è one or two years ago. The feeling was quite different. We used to get very excited or we were more affected by what was happening. Now we are not è thatù anymore. I feel that we are much moreù solid as a team" added the Monegasque.
"We are trying to focus step by step to tackle one problem at a time. We have a race to win this weekend and we will try to do our best to succeed" he concluded.
The cold of the Nevada desert in the evening qualifying and race sessions according to Sainz could play a decisive role. "Looking at the track layout you would say sì, Ferrari should be competitive, or at least in the mix" of the best, said Sainz.
But "when you feel the temperatures and you know how hard we sometimes struggle to change tires this year and all that, then definitely not,” the Spaniard added.
So there are two factors: we will see how they will battle with each other and who will perform better over the weekend.
