Ferrari, Carlos Sainz doesn’t give up: ‘I will give everything’
Carlos Sainz does not give up
After finishing qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in third place, Carlos Sainz è spoke to Sky Sports microphones: "We managed to progress quite well over the weekend. McLaren è always been in front all weekend with us chasing at two or three tenths. In Q1 and Q2 we were getting closer, but in Q3 they put it all together showing that they are still a little bit ahead of us".
"Tomorrow we will give everything, we will try to win the GP trying to guarantee ourselves the best opportunity for the Constructors – added the Spaniard -. Winning the last GP with Ferrari? I would give everything to succeed. Today I pushed like never before, I wanted pole and the best opportunity for tomorrow. It could be my last battle for success in a while, I am trying to enjoy the weekend by pushing hard. We will go on the attack'".
For Sainz, it will be the last race with the Rossa: "So far I haven't been so excited, because I'm very focused because of the high stakes that are at stake, we can still win the race and the title. Let's say I haven't had time to get excited. I'm sure that tomorrow after the race I will feel the emotion. However, I want to enjoy every moment of the weekend".
"It would be a bit too much to talk about what it would have been like without the oversteer at one corner, because maybe if you go harder in one corner you lose in others, and others might say the same. We were all on the limit, perfect laps do not exist. Being two tenths away means we are closer than expected, we recovered but it wasn’t enough, now we need to also recover these two tenths, recover these two positions in front of us, win and finally see what happens" concluded Sainz.
