Thomas Müller says goodbye to Bayern Munich for good, and at the moment he is not blurting out about a future that could also see him in Serie A. Over the course of the spring there was persistent talk of his possible, future transfer to Fiorentina or perhaps even Lazio where his longtime teammate Miroslav Klose already played. But the legendary German midfielder, for now, thinks only of the present and the past.

After 750 games, topped by 33 titles including 13 Bundesliga champions and two Champions Leagues, Müller’s last token at the Allianz Arena on Saturday came in Bayern&#8217s 2-0 home win over Borussia Monchengladbach. And in his farewell to the Bavarian public, there was no room for any winks to his future club, whatever that may be.

“I have had the privilege of contributing to Bayern Munich’s successes over the past 25 years – recalled Müller -. The whole world looks at this city and envies us for this stadium. We have also managed to permanently write our name at the top of European soccer. It is not a gift to struggle every year to win, but we have managed to make sure that we are in this position”.

“Of course I will miss the feeling of scoring a goal in a full stadium like this. No one will give it back to me; it is priceless. So many young people give and will continue to give their hearts for Bayern, but I will leave the big stage. I am curious to find out what will happen, not sad. But it cannot be half as good as what I had here” Müller concluded. And his words, easy as they are to predict, probably won&#8221t please whoever signs him. Be it even Fiorentina or Lazio.
