Novak Djokovic-Andy Murray, partnership ends early: message from Serbian champion

Just as the announcement of the collaboration between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray came as a surprise at the end of last season, thanks to which the Scot would follow the Serbian champion as a coach, the announcement of the closure of the sporting partnership also arrived unexpectedly, ahead of the forecasts that wanted Murray to follow Djokovic at least until Wimbledon.
Djokovic himself, on Tuesday, made the separation official with a message posted on his social channels: “Thank you, Coach Andy, for all the hard work, fun and support over the past six months, on and off the court. I have really enjoyed deepening our friendship” wrote the winner of 24 Grand Slam tournaments.
During this early part of the 2025 racquet season, Djokovic has yet to achieve a goal he has been seeking since he won the Olympic gold medal in Paris last summer: winning his 100th tournament, in singles, on the world’s premier professional tennis circuit.
For Nole these early months of 2025 have not been particularly lucky: after reaching the semifinals at the Australian Open (he surrendered to Alexander Zverev, then defeated in the final by Jannik Sinner), Djokovic lost in the final in Miami to the surprising Jakub Mensik, while in the other Masters 1000s played (Indian Wells, Monte Carlo, and Madrid) he did not go beyond the second round. He is absent in Rome by personal choice: the goal is to find the best form to find the coveted triple digits at Roland Garros.
