Inter officiates the arrival of Croatian midfielder Petar Sučić

Inter Milan, before leaving in the direction of America for the Club World Cup and having chosen its new coach, is making official its first summer market coup. Petar Sučić, a Croatian midfielder, is the Nerazzurri team’s new signing.
Inter announced the official announcement on their official profiles, through a statement: “The Croatian midfielder born in 2003 arrives permanently from Dinamo Zagreb. Green forests, rushing rivers and steep mountains: the Balkans is an area marked by landscapes of wild and authentic beauty. A crossroads of cultures and a borderland that has often found itself at the center of historical and human events of enormous scope. A territory that reflects the imagination, creativity and ability to dream of its inhabitants. The same characteristics that can be found in Petar Sučić, the new Nerazzurri midfielder.
Born Oct. 25, 2003, in Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina, to Croatian parents, Petar grew up in Kandija, a small village of about 300 souls in central Bosnia. Here the Sučić family owns a farm and farmland. A place of the heart for Petar, where he began to dream with a ball between his feet. His path in the world of soccer began at age 9, when he started playing in Bugojno’s NK Sport Prevent, an amateur team from one of the region’s major cities.”
Sučić’s introductory statement continues, “In a land that lives and breathes soccer, which has given the world purest talents, Sučić works hard to emerge. In 2018, he joined the youth sector of Iskra Bugojno, where he remained until 2020 when he was noticed by scouts from Zrinjski Mostar, the most successful team in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In January 2022, he moved to Dinamo Zagreb, joining the club’s second team. He thus made his debut in professional soccer, collecting 9 appearances in the Croatian second division.
His career finally takes off in the 2022/23 season. Dinamo sends him back to Zrinjski Mostar on loan. Sučić has a great season, during which he wins the championship and national cup and gets a taste of European competitions for the first time. He plays one game in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League and four in the Conference League qualifiers, a competition that Zrinjski, however, fails to enter.
Back in Zagreb, Petar became a key player in Dinamo’s blue jersey. This is also thanks to Igor Biscan, the’coach who decides to believe in his great potential. The 2023/24 season is studded with triumphs: Dinamo Zagreb wins the championship, Croatian Cup and Super Cup, with Petar playing 42 games and scoring 2 goals. In 2024/25 he also explodes at the international level. He scores two goals in the Champions League against Monaco and Slovan Bratislava. He also debuts with Croatia after choosing to play for his parents’ national team, scoring a goal against Poland in a Nations League match. In total, Petar collected 31 appearances and 7 goals in the season just ended, the best for him in his career in terms of scoring.”
Inter then recounts, again through the press release, the midfielder’s technical talents: “Midfielder gifted with great vision of the game, technique and versatility. Petar can play different roles in midfield. He is the cousin of Luka Sučić, currently with Real Sociedad. Petar becomes the eighth Croatian in Nerazzurri history. He travels the road that unites Dinamo Zagreb and Inter, the same road taken in the past by Mateo Kovačić and Marcelo Brozović. Two midfielders and pillars of a Croatia that twice reached the World podium.
Thus begins the Nerazzurri adventure of Petar Sučić. A new chapter all to be written within a dream that has now become a reality.”
Sucic was bought by Inter de facto back in late February when Inter and Dinamo Zagreb agreed on an outright purchase for 14 million euros + 2 million in bonuses. The player was given a four-year contract worth €1.5 million net per season, just under €3 million gross.
