Como places first market blow: agreement reached for Baturina

Como places its first market coup and secures one of the most promising talents in Croatian soccer: Martin Baturina. The 2003-born midfielder from Dinamo Zagreb will wear the Como shirt starting next season, going on to strengthen an already ambitious squad under the technical guidance of Cesc Fabregas.
The negotiations, which developed rapidly in recent days, saw Como’s management fly to Zagreb on Tuesday, June 10, to close the deal directly with the Croatian club. The final proposal – 18 million euros plus bonuses up to a maximum of 25 million – was accepted by Dinamo, which gave the go-ahead for the sale of its jewel. The deal includes a fixed part of 17 million payable over five years, plus 8 million in bonuses linked to goals and performance.
The contract that will bind Baturina to Como will be valid until June 2030, a clear sign of the club’s confidence and long-term investment. Medical examinations are expected in the coming days, but the transaction can now be considered concluded.
The decision to bet on Baturina represents an important change of strategy: having blurred the Yeremay track of Deportivo La Coruña, who will remain in Spain, Como has decided to accelerate to bring to Italy an international profile, also accustomed to the European stage with Dinamo Zagreb.
Baturina is a modern, technical midfielder with game vision and a distinct offensive propensity. His qualities match perfectly with the idea of soccer proposed by Fabregas, who will be able to mold the young talent with his experience and winning mentality.
