The first leg of the Champions League semifinal between PSG and Bayern Munich, played at the Parc des Princes in Paris, was a real spectacle for soccer lovers. A sensational match with nine total goals and crazy plays. A hymn to offensive soccer, carried out by two stellar teams with enormously talented players.

Many were elated to see the first act of the semifinal, especially many Italian fans who, lately, struggle to enjoy watching Serie A matches. Many, via social networks, pointed out the huge differences, in terms of quality and spectacle, between PSG-Bayern Munich and the recent Milan-Juventus.

However, there are also those who do not appreciate this kind of soccer at all. One example? Alessandro Melli, a fabulous 90s striker who did so much good especially with the Parma shirt. The 56-year-old former center forward published a post in which he explained why this is not the soccer he likes.

“Champions semi-final… PSG/ Bayern… I’ll go against the grain, but between var and a game that now no longer involves defense, marking, filtering in midfield, this soccer literally fucks me up. Do you know who loves this soccer?
Television stations, commentators and fans who just need to see goals but understand nothing about this game. Current soccer has become the new NBA,” his words.
