Milan market, Capello flunks Lewandowski and scuttles Leao

Former AC Milan coach Fabio Capello in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport gave some market advice to the Diavolo ahead of the summer market session. As is well known, the Milanese club has scoring problems, and according to rumors would like to entrust its offensive department to a top star such as Robert Lewandowski.
An option that Capello clearly rejects due to the no longer green age of the Polish striker: “I would not bet on the Pole. A champion and an outstanding bomber, we would miss him, but too old. In August Lewa will cross the 38-year mark. Has Modric done well even at 40? But a center forward is not a director. When a bomber loses the agility of his best days, he becomes easier to mark. If I were Milan, I would look elsewhere.”
Capello, on the other hand, agrees that the attack needs to be redone and returns to put Rafael Leao in his sights: “I’m not just referring to him, but I’ve never made it a secret that I can’t consider Rafa a real center forward. And mind you, I have always been a fan of Leao. Lately, however, I’ve been seeing him looking dumbed down. He no longer has the burning burst of a few years ago and in the role in which he plays now he struggles a lot.”
Capello gave his approval to another Milan target, Sorloth: “Yes he convinces me, he is a striker with an important specific weight and an interesting solution also from a European perspective. I certainly see him as better than whoever Allegri has in the squad today.”
