Milan, missing Champions cost Allegri and three others their jobs

After the heavy defeat against Cagliari, which sanctioned the club’s exclusion from the next Champions League, it is time for a revolution at Milan. In fact, the ownership led by Gerry Cardinale would have decided to reset the current management and technical set-up, opening a new phase for the club.

The first to say goodbye would be managing director Giorgio Furlani, followed by sporting director Igli Tare and head of the scouting area Geoffrey Moncada. Massimiliano Allegri, who ended up at the center of criticism after a disappointing season culminating with the failure to qualify for Champions League football.

The Livorno-born coach, who returned to Milan just a year ago, has a contract expiring in 2027 with an option to renew until 2028, a clause that, however, was not triggered precisely because of the failure to qualify for European football. His fate now seems sealed and the management is reportedly already considering possible replacements.

Among the names that have emerged in the last few hours is that of Antonio Conte, although the track appears complicated, especially in the event that Zlatan Ibrahimovic should gain more weight within the new corporate structure. The former Swedish striker, in fact, would welcome a profile like Mark van Bommel. Watch out also for Vincenzo Italiano, already followed by Milan in the past and who could return to the spotlight should Allegri land at Napoli.
