Marco Bezzecchi triumphs at Mugello. Bagnaia on the podium, Marc Marquez seventh

Marco Bezzecchi rediscovers victory and strengthens his leadership in the World Championship by winning the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello. For the Italian rider this is the fourth success of the season, the first after a series of three weekends in which, while remaining competitive, he had failed to climb the top step of the podium.
The Tuscan race gives a historic one-two to Aprilia, with Jorge Martin second at the finish line. A particularly significant result for the House of Noale, which precisely at Mugello had often struggled to achieve prestigious results. Completing the podium is Francesco Bagnaia, protagonist of a first half of the race in command before having to give way to the two official RS-GPs. In the final, the Ducati champion still manages to defend the third position from the attacks of Ai Ogura.
The Japanese of the Trackhouse team in fact closes fourth, confirming the excellent state of form of the Aprilia universe. Behind him finishes Fabio Di Giannantonio, author of a convincing comeback with the Ducati VR46 after a complicated start. Sixth position for Pedro Acosta on the factory KTM, ahead of Marc Marquez. The Spaniard of the Ducati Factory, back on track after the injury suffered three weeks earlier in Le Mans, completes a solid race but without being able to insert himself in the fight for the top positions.
Among the protagonists of the day is also Raul Fernandez. Fresh from his success in Saturday’s Sprint Race, the Aprilia Trackhouse rider compromised his ambitions as early as the first corner, going long in an attempt to overtake Bezzecchi at the initial braking. Slipped to the rear, the Spaniard still manages to build a remarkable comeback that takes him up to eighth place overall.
Race instead to forget for Enea Bastianini. The KTM Tech3 rider is forced to retire after a crash occurred on the twelfth of the twenty-three laps planned. Completing the top ten are Fermin Aldeguer and Diogo Moreira. For the young Brazilian it was another convincing performance, with tenth place replicating the result obtained in the previous day’s Sprint Race.
