E' Massimo Manara dead, Sampdoria and soccer in mourning

The soccer world mourns Massimo Manara, Sampdoria’s medical director, who died at the age of 63. The blucerchiato club broke the news in an official statement. Manara was highly respected in the environment and had worked in the past for Parma, Milan, Spezia, Al-Nassr and Roma.
“Today is a sad day for U.C. Sampdoria and for the world of international sports medicine,” is the Dorians’ note. “Dr. Massimo Manara, Sampdoria’s medical manager and a respected professional in the field, passed away in his Parma home at the age of 63.
“”This is news that saddens us greatly,” says Area Football CEO Jesper Fredberg. “With the death of Dr. Manara we lose a great professional and a person of high moral value, a figure who will not be easily replaced in the structure of our club. Indeed, in these two seasons at Sampdoria we appreciated his work, his competence and his humanity. That’s why, from the bottom of our hearts, we remember him today, expressing our closeness to his beloved son and his entire family'”.
“Born in 1962, with a degree in Medicine and Surgery from Milan in 1989 and a specialization in Sports Medicine from Bologna in 1996, before coming to Genoa in the summer of 2024, Dr. Manara was social doctor for Parma, Milan, Spezia, Al-Nassr and Roma as well as health manager of the UAE national team. To his son Federico and his family, the company extends its deepest condolences.”
