John McEnroe is drastic about what Jannik Sinner will do now: "I’ll bet anything"

Having arrived as the big favorite at Roland Garros, Jannik Sinner was surprisingly eliminated in the second round of the Paris tournament after a physical collapse came when he was just one game away from victory. According to U.S. tennis legend John McEnroe, the Blue and his staff have been working for some time to find the right countermeasures to overcome the difficulties suddenly facing the world number one in long matches.
“In truth, it’s not a new problem, he’s been dealing with it for years already. It’s brutal to have to deal with this kind of heat, and he has cramped on three or four different occasions in the past. I really think in the last three or four years they have done everything they can, from testing to nutrition, to find a way to minimize this problem.”
“After this last defeat they will continue to do it. It’s probably also a psychological problem, it’s hard to handle it and stay calm. At the Australian Open Alcaraz cramped up against Zverev, but somehow he managed to recover and win. And Sinner in the past also managed to win some matches with cramps. It’s clearly unfortunate, it shows that he’s human, but I would bet anything that they are doing everything they can to resolve the situation.”
After the Paris disappointment, Sinner chose Sardinia to recharge his energy, spending a few relaxing days in Palau and the La Maddalena archipelago together with girlfriend Laila Hasanovic, his father, brother and some friends. The Blue has already resumed preparation for the big Wimbledon event scheduled for later this month.
