Atalanta Transfer Market: Sarri Has Signed; A Double Treat Awaits Him. And Palestra…

Atalanta has officially turned the page. Following the dismissal of Raffaele Palladino—who was still technically under contract but had effectively been out of the picture since the final whistle of the last league match—the Bergamo-based club officially announced on Monday the arrival of Maurizio Sarri as its new head coach. A decisive choice that marks the beginning of a new era and, among other things, gets the transfer market back in motion.
With the coaching situation settled, the Nerazzurri management is now focused on strengthening the squad. The first two names on the list are: Kerim Alajbegovic, a Bosnian international from Red Bull Salzburg, and Ardon Jashari, fresh off a mixed season at Milan but considered a player with potential, a sort of “De Ketelaere-bis” with a Swiss twist. Two deals that, combined, would bring the total investment to around 50 million euros.
This figure is no coincidence: it is exactly what Atalanta has asked Inter for Marco Palestra, the 2005-born defender coming off a high-level season on loan at Cagliari. The Milanese Nerazzurri continue to monitor the situation, but Atalanta has no intention of dropping below that valuation.
Meanwhile, Bergamo fans have made their voices heard with a tongue-in-cheek banner that appeared near the training center: a pun urging the club to keep “Palestra for a year, because the doctor ordered it.” A message light in tone but crystal clear in substance: the fans do not want to lose the full-back from Buccinasco.
