Two offers from the EuroLeague for RJ Cole

At Reyer Venezia, the focus is primarily on RJ Cole’s future. The American point guard was one of last season’s key players, proving to be a vital piece of the team’s chemistry, which is why the Venice-based club is determined to do everything possible to convince him to stay.
The situation, however, is not straightforward. Several EuroLeague teams have expressed interest in the New Jersey-born point guard, who will soon turn 27, with Zalgiris Kaunas leading the pack. This is a particularly intriguing option for Cole, who is already very familiar with Lithuanian basketball thanks to his experience over the past two seasons with Rytas Vilnius. For the player, this could be a major opportunity—one that is unlikely to come around again in his career.
The stats posted by the Union City native, born in 1999, during the season just concluded speak for themselves and explain why his name has ended up on the radar of numerous European clubs: 16.8 points per game in the LBA and 12.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game in the EuroCup, with a high of 25 points in the game against Manresa. These performances have established him as one of the most sought-after point guards on the European scene.
In addition to Zalgiris, Olimpia Milano is also said to have made a decisive move for the player, as the team seeks reinforcements at the point guard position following Quinn Ellis’s departure for the NCAA and the possible departure of Nico Mannion. This concrete interest is made possible by a clause in Cole’s contract that would allow him to opt out in order to join the EuroLeague, effectively circumventing Reyer’s desire to retain him.
