Rafael Nadal makes a prediction about Jannik Sinner

Despite their young age, both Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have already built impressive careers. The Italian has won four Grand Slam titles at age 24 and became the youngest tennis player ever to complete the Career Grand Slam, winning all the Masters 1000 tournaments on the circuit and demonstrating incredible versatility on various surfaces. This is a feat that Spanish legend Rafael Nadal has never achieved; in an interview with CNBC, he spoke specifically about Sinner and his great rival Alcaraz.
“Do Sinner or Alcaraz have a chance to become the greatest of all time? Ultimately, it all comes down to the numbers. I mean, when I say that Djokovic is the best tennis player in history, it’s because the numbers say so. And we have to take the numbers into account when we’re talking about who’s the greatest. So I think it’s impossible to answer this question right now; the numbers will tell us in the future. It’s not enough just to win; you also have to do it over a very long period of time,” emphasized the former tennis player from Manacor.
“Today they have no rivals, and a lot will also depend on whether new major rivals emerge on the tour and how difficult it will be for them to keep winning so often. They also need to stay injury-free; life is unpredictable, and tennis is just as unpredictable.” Sinner will make his debut on Monday on Center Court at Wimbledon after 2 p.m.
Ahead of Wimbledon, Sinner arrived at the All England Club in good shape, as demonstrated by his training session on Court 1 with Novak Djokovic, during which the South Tyrolean won the set 6-3 in an atmosphere of great camaraderie between the two champions. His preparation on the London grass had already begun with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Cameron Norrie in an exhibition match at the Armani Tennis Classic at the Hurlingham Club. On Thursday, Sinner also took part in the trophy presentation ceremony, stating: “For me, it has always been *The Tournament*—it’s so iconic and historic, and having my name among the winners means the world to me. When I was a kid, I never would have thought I’d reach this milestone.”
