When he began his rise to the top of the world tennis rankings, it certainly wasn’t his strongest shot. Being the perfectionist that he is, Jannik Sinner worked on it for a long time, managing to turn his serve into one of his greatest strengths.

Every opponent he has faced so far on the grass at Wimbledon has noticed this. Thanks to his extremely precise serve, the world No. 1 has overcome several challenges and, above all, has proven that he is now the undisputed master of the serve. In fact, he uses it to score easy points and, thus, conserve as much energy as possible.

The numbers speak for themselves. To date, Jannik Sinner has recorded a total of 97 aces in matches played at Wimbledon. His average is extremely high: 19.4 per match. This is a key asset in his success. Then there’s the “first serve” factor. When he lands it, he wins over 80% of the points.

Clearly, Jannik Sinner aims to capitalize on his (nearly) perfect serve in the big match against Novak Djokovic that will determine who advances to the final. Despite being 39 years old, the Serb remains one of the best at returning serves, but the world No. 1’s serve is now one of the most effective on the entire tour.
