Novak Djokovic: "Italy is the most important country in the history of humanity"

Great praise for Italy from 24-time Slam champion Novak Djokovic, who in an interview with Vanity Fair did not hide his admiration for the Belpaese: “Italy is the most important nation in the history of mankind. Loved for so many obvious things like history, culture, music, food, cars, fashion. I’ve had in my career a special relationship with Italians, I’ve worked and work with Italian people in my team, I’m proud to speak Italian, which is one of the most beautiful languages.”
Lately the Azzurri have been making a name for themselves in tennis as well, with Jannik Sinner and beyond: “There is so much to admire, even as far as our sport is concerned: what Italy has done in the last 10-15 years, with the successes in men’s and women’s tennis, is admirable. It is the leader right now, and the biggest congratulations go to the people involved in this success. I could go on for hours talking about Italy!”
Djokovic has won it all several times, but he still has many goals: “I would like to win at least one more Grand Slam title, to be able to be healthy and still play for the next few years. I have so many dreams as a father. Then, so many work projects that I can’t wait to share with the world.”
On regrets in his career: “There are but I don’t let them overwhelm me for too long. When I lose a game I try not to think too much about what I could have done better. There is something symbolic about his measurement of time. When I look at the time and notice the same numbers like 11:11, I see something spiritual in it.”
Nole then talked about the unforgettable moments he would like to relive: “I would like to relive so many moments in my career and in my personal life: getting married and becoming a father twice are experiences I would like to repeat over and over again. Regarding the profession, I would like to go back to when I won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics for my country.”
