The Miami Masters 1000 final between Jannik Sinner and Jiri Lehecka was halted early in the second set, with the Blue ahead 6-4, 15-30 after the first 52 minutes of the match. The match, which began more than an hour late due to heavy rain, was abruptly halted after the return of bad weather, which has been plaguing the Florida tournament for days.

Sinner immediately fled to the locker room at the first drops of water, putting a towel over his head. Organizers reported that the match would not resume until late midnight Italian time. But the wait could get even longer.

The Blue, who must not get sidetracked, is in the hunt for the first Sunshine Double in his career, that is, the Indian Wells-Miami double, which in the past only Courier, Chang, Sampras, Rios, Agassi, Federer and Djokovic have managed to achieve.

But above all, the South Tyrolean is in the hunt for important points to again shorten his disadvantage to world number one Carlos Alcaraz, who was eliminated in the third round of the Florida Masters 1000. Sinner has faced Lehečka three times in his career, overcoming him on all occasions without ever losing a set.
