New 'purchase' for Cagliari: Andrea Belotti returns

From Monday afternoon, despite the absence of players engaged with their respective national teams (among them the Azzurri Caprile and Palestra), Cagliari coach Pisacane will work to regain intensity and determination in the group. The break will be especially useful to gradually reintegrate Andrea Belotti, with the goal of bringing him back to his best condition.
The former striker, of Como, Benfica, Torino and Palermo, among others, has been out of action since Sept. 27, when he ruptured his ACL in the 2-0 home loss to Inter. In recent days, the Bergamasque has already done several training sessions with his teammates and is aiming to make his contribution to his return, scheduled against Sassuolo, after months of stop.
An important recovery for a team that, in the last period, has shown obvious offensive difficulties, and risks to call into question a salvation that seemed to be by now acquired.
On the standings front, the situation remains delicate: Cagliari has not won since Jan. 31, when it won 4-0 over Hellas Verona, and since then the Rossoblù team has racked up a series of negative results that have reopened the salvation discourse. Between now and the end of the championship, the Sardinians will have to face top-level opponents such as Inter, Atalanta and Milan, as well as more affordable challenges on paper against Sassuolo, Cremonese, Bologna, Udinese and Torino.
The difficult sporting situation has inevitably fueled rumors about Fabio Pisacane’s future on the bench. President Tommaso Giulini has recently opened up to the possibility of a change of corporate majority, mainly related to the new stadium project, and a possible entry of new investors could bring with it new ideas on the technical front as well. For now, however, Pisacane enjoys the trust of the club and is working toward the goal of salvation.
