Jean Alesi expected it but remains optimistic about the future
Jean Alesi’s words
Jean Alesi in Tuttosport had his say on the budget cap case: “I don’t want to get into the merits of the issue or participate in any controversy. The point is that when I heard that the budget cap was going to be included in Formula 1, I immediately thought that someone could have devised ploys to get around the rules.”
“If you put yourself in the shoes of the big teams, they had to lay off engineers and technicians, cut staff, reduce developments, so I understand how tangible the discontent can be. At the same time, however, I trust that this year’s lesson will serve to avoid problems in the future.”
Closing remark on the season finale: “I think the last two races will be fun and hard-fought. I will attend in the final event in Abu Dhabi, as I am convinced it will be a great celebration, the worthy conclusion of a beautiful championship.”
