Federica Brignone, the future is an open construction site: the champion's admission

Federica Brignone’s season, which actually lasted about a month but was resoundingly happy thanks to her two Olympic gold medals at Milan Cortina 2026 despite a very serious injury ten months earlier, will rightfully enter the history of alpine skiing, not only Italian. The Tiger of La Salle wanted to ideally retrace the Super-G and Giant Slalom he ran on the Tofane Olympia on the sidelines of his participation, in Bolzano, of an event of the Centro Sportivo Carabinieri.
“The two golds in Cortina came in a totally unexpected way, far beyond what I could have imagined – he explained to reporters -. Putting my skis back on had been a complicated and at the same time beautiful path, but I never really thought I could come back and win. I just tried to do my best by skiing free and enjoying every moment-I was so happy to be back on the slope that everything else took a back seat.”
“Winning at home is a huge thrill, especially after a challenge that seemed impossible even in just getting back to racing,” said again the Italian champion, who in February brought her Olympic list of medals to five, adding the two golds in Milan Cortina 2026 to silver in the giant in Beijing 2022 and bronze medals in Pyeongchanhg 2018, again in the giant as well as in the combined.
At 35 years of age (she will be 36 next July 14), Federica Brignone more say she has won practically everything but reasoning about the future is still ongoing. “Right now the priority is to resume treatment,” she confided. “I have rested my leg, but there is still a need for attention and further treatment in order to really recover.”
