Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz getting closer: semifinals schedule in Monte Carlo

There are only three matches left to decide who will be the winner of the 2026 edition of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000.
Saturday will be the day of the two semifinals at Court Rainier III, with the top three in the world having reached qualification and a home idol acting as a loose cannon. Attention will certainly be focused on Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, but their respective opponents should by no means be underestimated.
Opening the program will be the Sesto Pusteria outfielder himself, engaged against Alexander Zverev: Sinner reached the semifinals by defeating Felic Auger-Aliassime on Friday with a convincing 6-3, 6-4, while ‘Sascha’ suffered not a little against Joao Fonseca, beating him after two hours and forty minutes 7-5, 6-7(3), 6-3. The match is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.: one variable is the doubles match that will be played earlier, starting at 11 a.m., but the time would be confirmed if this match ends by 1 p.m.
Not before 3:30 p.m. and certainly after Sinner-Zverev will play the second semifinal, which will see Carlos Alcaraz, world No. 1 and defending champion in Monte Carlo, face host Valentin Vacherot. The Murcian swept Alexander Bublik in his own quarterfinal with a clean 6-3, 6-0, while the Monegasque got the better of Alex de Minaur by beating him 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, in a match that lasted nearly two and a half hours.
The two winners of the semifinals will then face each other on Sunday, April 12, with first serve scheduled for 5 p.m.: fans and insiders await yet another chapter in the rivalry between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner (it would be the first in 2026 after last year’s six finals), but Zverev and Vacherot are not starting off undefeated and will certainly sell their skins dearly, trying to break the bank in two matches that are all to be seen.
